MS. ELIZABETH GOYER is a seasoned 3rd Degree Black Belt in Traditional Tae Kwon Do having begun her practice in 2007. One of Asheville Sun Soo’s early students, Ms. Goyer holds the distinction of being the first to have been invited by Master Morris to assist in kids classes before reaching black belt rank. From the beginning of her practice, Ms. Goyer has distinguished herself as an en excellent practitioner with a high attention to detail and body mechanics. In 2009, she was invited by Master Morris to become a full-time instructor and also simultaneously appointed to Director of the Asheville Sun Soo Kids Night Out Program – voted #1 in WNC by Mountain Xpress. Talented as both a practitioner and a teacher, she is equally enthusiastic and dedicated to her students’ continued progress.
Ms. Goyer continues training with Master Morris three times per week and is on track to reach her first master rank of 4th degree in late 2018. She has complemented her Tae Kwon Do practice with training in Hapkido and Jiujitsu, which fortifies her martial arts knowledge and skills while supporting her instruction to her students. As a practitioner, Ms. Goyer is recognized for her precision and consistency, and as a teacher and mentor, she is appreciated for her excellent technique, awareness of biomechanics, and clear communication.
Ms. Goyer’s role as full-time instructor is supported by her life experiences. She is a friend to many, long-time athlete and social activist. Her professional education includes a B.S. in Environmental Studies. Her athletic career includes running, swimming and soccer. She is also pursuing certification as a Pilates instructor.
Ms. Goyer, along with Master Morris, Mr. Dickinson, and Mrs. Dexter, maintains a prominent presence in all of the 40+ classes per week at the school.
