Grand Master Suk Jun Kim will be our special guest next Saturday at color belt testing. There are very few 9th degree black belts in the world and even fewer who were directly promoted by General Choi, considered the “Father of Tae Kwon Do”. He has been practicing for 50 years.
Asheville Sun Soo Tae Kwon Do became a member of Kim’s Taekwon-Do International Union of schools (TKDI) last summer. Now, for the first time Master Kim will visit the school to join the judges’ panel, on February 18th.
Traditional Tae Kwon Do (Korean Karate) Instruction
TKDI, based in New York City, cultivates the legacy of traditional Tae Kwon Do (Korean Karate) by enriching and preserving the way it is taught at all levels, especially in the continuing education of master instructors. They produce training publications and videos in personal and business development. They also hold seminars and camps, including the National Masters & Black Belt Seminar. In June 2012 this seminar will be held at Asheville Sun Soo.
